Zeus Unleashed slot and Kronos Unleashed slot are two new additions to WMS’s portfolio, based of course on the Greek Gods and Titans. Kronos is Zeus’s father, who tried to kill his son according to Greek mythology by eating him when he was born, only to be overpowered and imprisoned in Tartarus for all eternity. In these slots though, they are equals as the slots play in exactly the same way, just with different characters.
Housed in the Twinstar J43 cabinet, just like we saw with Tetris Super Jackpots slot, you get an incredibly vibrant, large vertical 4k display to show off the awesome power and might of these Gods. Each stands tall and ferocious above a 5×8 grid with 60 pay lines, a 50 credit bonus bet and 600 credit max bet. The slot is truly magnificent, and one of the best we’ve ever seen. The aim is to achieve a winning combination from the base symbols from left to right to win credits or obtain a bonus. Here are the base symbols for each Zeus / Kronos Unleashed slot, respectively:

Zeus Unleashed and Kronos Unleashed Slot Bonuses and Features
Bonus Nudge Feature. This is activated by 3 or more Blue / Gold symbols, in which any reel where they cover only 1 or 2 positions may nudge so that it covers up to 3 positions on that reel. If a reel nudges to reveal the symbol fully, then that reel becomes ineligible for further nudges.
Lightning Respin Bonus. This bonus is the same for each slot, the only difference being Blue Zeus is Blue Kronos for the Kronos slot, and the same with the Gold. For the sake of this article, I will refer only to Zeus. If Lightning Respin is active and Blue Zeus lands on all positions of reel 1; or More & Better or Zues More Power Up and Lightning Respin is active with Gold Zeus lading on 6 or more positions on reel 1, then this bonus will be triggered. During the Bonus, Blue Zeus will cover reel 1 if Lightning Respin is active, or Gold Zeus otherwise. You will be awarded with 3 respins and a minimum of 4 symbols. Symbols that land will be held for the remainder of the bonus. Only active White Zeus, Power Up and Blanks appear on the reels, the colour of White Zeus matching the colours of Zeus appearing on reel 1. If at least 1 additional non-blank symbol lands on the screen during a respin, an additional respin will be awarded.
If Power Up lands on the screen, it will transform into one of the following:
- White Symbol. White Zeus will all open positions surrounding the symbol.
- Lightning Bolt. Triggers the Jackpot Bonus at the end of the spin, awarding a spin of the Jackpot wheel for each Lightning Bolt. For each spin of the reels, each of the two reels awards a prize of either Mini, Minor, Major, Mega or Zeus, ranging from 500-25,000 credits.
- Up Arrow. Adds an additional row at the bottom of the grid, where each position displays active White Zeus, 10 additional lines are added with each grid expansion. The grid reverts to 8 rows and 60 lines after the bonus.
- Plus Symbol. This will increase White Zeus payouts depending on the colour.
Free Spins Bonus. Three or more Blue / Gold symbols will trigger this bonus, with the number of free spins determined by a rather complicated, and unnecessary mathematical model. I won’t go into all the details here, you can check on the game rules themselves if you’re interested. This bonus is guaranteed to award a minimum of 5x the total bet.
Conclusion
That pretty much sums up both Zeus Unleashed slot and Kronos Unleashed slot. Both are excellent games from WMS, although somewhat complicated and rather unnecessarily so. That being said, there are some great rewards to be had, and the bonuses are quite fun once you understand how they work. The real standout feature I think though is the design, which is simply stunning and a perfect way to show of the might of the powerful Greek Gods and Titans.
